Our mission is to achieve the esthetic and oral well-being needs and desires of our patients through technical excellence, while respecting the comfort and peace of mind of each. Predictable and excellent dentistry requires superior skills, skillful execution, state of the art equipment and the intelligent adaptation of advances in science. But, what we believe to be most important is the establishment of a lasting relationship with open dialogue and mutual trust, to help our patients to make wise choices regarding their dental health.

Our office specializes in state of the art restorative and cosmetic dentistry to correct, restore or enhance your smile to fit your own unique facial form. Our goal is to integrate esthetics as part of total dental health while creating an overall pleasing and natural facial appearance. We have carefully designed our office to create an atmosphere of understated elegance, warmth and efficiency.  

We believe that improving a patient's smile should be conservative and non-invasive, and that it must have a positive impact on overall appearance and self-confidence. Not everyone is born with a perfect smile or if they did, circumstances may not have allowed them to maintain what they had. Priorities may have changed in life and taken its toll on a nice smile. Our skillful and talented execution combined with sincere effort and intelligent direction has placed us in a position to be able to take advantage of the many advances in dentistry.

About Elisa Mello, D.D.S.

A native New Yorker, Dr. (or Elisa Mello) Mello was born, and grew up in, Astoria.  She graduated from New York University in 1987, and received her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the New York University College of Dentistry in 1991. Because of her outstanding scholarship and clinical skills, she was elected to membership in the prestigious Omicron Kappa Upsilon, the international dental society.  She is a recipient of the Samuel Charles Miller award, given to graduating students with the highest degree of knowledge and achievement in the field of periodontics.

Dr. Mello completed her General Practice Residency at Flushing Hospital, a major teaching affiliate of the Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Her postgraduate work included advanced studies with world-renowned leaders in advanced dentistry: Frank Spear, John Kois, Pete Dawson, and the Light Force America Orthodontic Institute, IDEA, and Bio Research Associates.

 

As a New York University faculty member, Dr. Mello taught American-trained students in the Advanced Education General Dentistry Program, and currently teaches international students in the Department of Continuing Education.

Dr. Mello is a member of the American Dental Association, American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, American Academy of Periodontology, the American Association of Woman Dentists, and the Academy of General Dentistry.

 

With a private practice limited to Cosmetic Dentistry at her Upper East Side office in Manhattan, and as an expert in Invisalign, Dr. Mello’s extensive training in orthodontics and complex aesthetics has also allowed her to treat even the most challenging cases successfully.

 

Dr. Mello is an active volunteer and dental provider for the American Association of Women Dentists’ outreach program for battered women (Smiles for Success).  In addition, she volunteers her services for the men and women participating in the Doe Fund, an organization established to assist the homeless get back on their feet and back into the work force.
